Residential Tenancy Laws
From the 1st of July 2016 important changes to the Residential Tenancy Act have come in to force.
The highlighted new elements of compliance for rental properties are smoke alarms and insulation. The standard of insulation in your rental properties must now be declared in new tenancy agreements allowing tenants to make informed choices in the rental market. Property owners have until April 2019 to become compliant, but why wait? We can help you certify your compliance in plenty of time.
Our experienced assessors can complete an audit of your property, and provide you with an independent and informed report of the property’s current insulation and how it stacks up against New Zealand Standard for installing insulation (NZS 4246:2016).
This report will outline the quality of the existing insulation in your property and whether or not it meets the industry standard. If the standard is met your report will included a compliance certificate which can be added to your tenancy agreements as is required in the new law.
If the property is not compliant we will also provide a competitive, obligation-free quote to upgrade the insulation in your property and provide the Certificate of Compliance once install is completed.
